Horsemanship is about
keeping an open mind at all
times,  an undying amount of
patience,  and an ability to
relinquish HUMAN EGO.

We also specialize in finding reasons for your older horse
misbehaving.  Every horse reacts to stimuli in a certain way
whether positive or negative.  We break down back to the basics
at a point where we can rebuild, or train, a horse so that he can
reconstruct his behaviors and return back to his pleasant and
willing self.  Whether your horse is having a problem turning
correctly, stopping, loading in a trailer, or riding quietly down the
trail, we have the resources to bring your horse back to well
mannered gentleman ( or lady ).

We  work directly with the rider to confirm that they aren't
sending mixed signals to their horse.  Mixed signals confuse a
horse.  Confusion will almost always force a horse to react in two
ways; FIGHT or FLIGHT.  We offer lessons so that a rider can
provide the proper signals to obtain the proper responses.

We can also help you check your horse for physical problems
that may be supporting his bad habits.

If the horse is throwing his head, we check for the proper
functioning bit  that agrees best with that horse. Second, that
his teeth are not affecting his head carriage. You should have
your horse's teeth checked or floated at least once a year.  Small
wolf teeth may also cause discomfort to a horse when the bit is
applied.  They need to be extracted immediately.

If the horse is bucking, our first check will be for a proper fitting
saddle ( JUST BECAUSE YOUR SADDLE FITS ONE HORSE
DOESN'T MEAN IT WILL FIT ALL HORSES ).  A good saddle is the
wisest investment a horse owner can make. Secondly,  that it's
back is not sore in any way.  Sore muscles or an out of line
vertebrae can make the most broke horse very sensitive.

True Horsemanship
Through Feel
By.  Bill Dorrence
Commitment to improving relationships
between Horse and Rider.

The start a horse receives sets the precedent for
his perception of us the remainder of his career.
Our primary objective for the first 30 days  of your
horse's education is to present leadership and
safety.   Horses are in constant search of
leadership.  It is a deeply embedded instinct in his
nature.  He craves the feeling of safety with zero
outside pressure.  Horse rules and laws are based
around partnership and herd instincts.  There is
nothing NATURAL about human intervention with
horses.  The beauty of the art of horsemanship is
being able to communicate to an animal in his
own language...body language.

With out your involvement in his education, any
kind of progress may be erased if you are not able
to understand his newly gained knowledge.  We
encourage you to become an active role in his
learning process.  We separate ourselves not by
our methods, but by our ability and willingness to
show you the subtly of horsemanship.

We would love to talk to you.  Please contact us @

Something to Keep In Mind:
Each week of training for your horse can be the related to the equivalent of 1 grade of
education for a human child.

At the end of four weeks of training you can expect your horse to have the mentality of a
fourth grader.  At the end of 8 weeks your horses will have the mentality of an eighth
grader.  At the end of 12 weeks your horse will have graduated from basic education and is
ready for college ( reining, cutting, pleasure, barrel racing )
